The Almanac header graphic announcing our new name

Boo! We've got a new name: The Cottage Almanac is now The Almanac, and we're adding the Pacific Rim to the mix.

Why the change? "Cottaging" is only used in some parts of the country, and we're a publication for all of Canada. The Almanac is now our overarching brand, with local editions underneath it. Same regionally diverse stories and local happenings, now with a name that fits.

What's new? The Pacific Rim now has its own edition: The Pacific Rim Almanac. Reading from Tofino, Ucluelet, Bamfield, or Port Alberni, love to spend time there, or are planning a trip? Use the below poll to sign up. Muskoka readers, your edition stays the same. Today's Fireside episode is a first taste.

Fireside Podcast

A first look at our Pacific Rim edition. Meet Elijah, a Tofino surf instructor and the person who got me standing on a board.

Thanks to a lesson at Pacific Surf Co. and some solid coaching from Elijah, I caught my first wave last week 🏄

During this episode of Fireside with The Almanac I sat down with my surf coach Elijah to chat about surfing, respectful tourism, and what his perfect Tofino day looks like.
